Polish of the Day

Two coats of OPI's "What's with the Cattitude?" from the Shrek Forever After Collection, Summer 2010, topped with two coats of Model's Own "Indian Ocean" from their Beetlejuice, Summer 2012 Collection.

What's with the Cattitude is a sky blue cream, and Indian Ocean is a glass fleck type pale blue shimmer with tons of pink shimmer in it... very, very pretty!

Spring has Sprung-- and then some...

Well, Spring has arrived here in Texas-- earlier than usual. I don't usually get any of my bearded iris blooming until April and they have already started!

Some pale lavender bearded iris and some yellow Siberian irises...

That's my pink Indian hawthorne bush in the background-- blooming like crazy! My Zephirine Drouhin rose is blooming-- when you walk out the front door, the smell from that Bourbon rose is intoxicating! I will post some pics of it tomorrow, along with pics of my red violet Siberian iris.

I love Spring!

Happy Mardi Gras!

To celebrate Mardi Gras, I decided to make Paul Prudhomme's Seafood Dirty Rice for dinner. Yummy!

This is my Mardi Gras manicure... Orly Space Cadet topped with China Glaze's Golden Enchantment. Space Cadet is from the Orly Cosmic Fx Collection, 2010, and Golden Enchantment is from the Fashion Fairy Collection. Space Cadet is a duochrome-- reddish purple with green, gold, and pink flashes. Every way you tilt your hand, the color will change. Golden Enchantment is a golden holographic topcoat, which I added to get just a tiny bit more flash for Mardi Gras!

Hope you had something tasty for Mardi Gras and that life brings a lagniappe for you every day... that's Cajun for "a little extra" something... a nice surprise or bonus!

New Scarf

Latest scarf... knitted in Sitar by Nashua Handknits, the colorway is Gypsy Wagon. This is a wool/acrylic blend and very soft. I fringed it in mohair.

Polish of the Day

Candy Shop by Deborah Lippmann...bubble gum pink base with multi-colored glitter. I love, love, love this polish!! It makes me think of birthday cakes and fiestas and cascarones!! Fun color that made me smile every time I looked at my manicure...great formula and good wear.

Happy New Year

My cat got a surprise basket from Fancy Feast right before Christmas-- seems the Fancy Feast people read her Catster blog and wanted to reward her addiction to Fancy Feast. She looks so pleased with herself in this photo...and she looks pretty good for almost 19 years old, doesn't she?

They also sent a basket for the humans full of yummy goodies-- that's the basket behind her.

You could have knocked me over with a feather-- who knew they read cat blogs?
